Coaches during this period were Donald Weaver, John Porterfield, Chuck Mills, John Newsom, Larry Chapman and Lee Evans.
The State Wrestling Tournament was not divided into its AAA and AA/A format until 1976.
From 1964 to 1975, Calhoun participated in regional tournaments with larger schools, like Parkersburg and Moundsville, and in State tournaments with the likes of Charleston and Huntington.
Since the division of AAA and AA/A in 1976, Calhoun has amassed a 42-20-2 dual record against AAA schools as of the 2008-09 season). Since 2000, Calhoun has won 19 such duals, while losing only two (Nitro and Ripley in 2003).
Calhoun dropped wrestling for the 1973-74 season.
Calhoun was one of the original members of the Little Kanawha Conference in wrest-ling, along with Wirt County, Harrisville and Cairo.
Calhoun has wrestled in every LKC Tournament except 1974.
The Red Devils are tied for second in LKC tourney participation with Williamstown. Wirt County has participated in every LKC tournament to date.
