Are the results from the Eye of the Tiger tournament this past weekend going to be posted?

Was the 1 pound weight allowance in compliance with the rules of a WVYWA tournament?

I had a kid over weight and they made him move up. I was told they couldn't give weight because it was a wvywa qualifier.

I just wondered I've heard a lot of talk about no weight allowance recently for wvywa tourneys but if you look on the eye of the tiger flyer it says 1lb allowance. My son didn't need it but that might have allowed some to get down to another base weight if they did allow 1lb for some kids

If a tourney director gives a 1 pound allowance it is for their tourney only, not certification for base weight. The actual weights are turned in, not the weight class made to determine base weight.

So you get 2lb allowance at regionals or just at states?

I was wondering about the weight allowance too... I read the rules and it stated a lb for any qualifier after January 1 and regionals then 2lbs at states. I was also told it was for middle school division only not youth. So hopefully someone can clear that up.

when will the results be posted. i have heard wrestling went late into the night was curious if anyone that went knows this to be true or not.

This is on page 29 of the WVYWA rules section.

4. Weight Allowance:
a. Flat weights for all WVYWA Qualifying Tournaments on or before December 31 of each year.
b. A one-pound weight allowance for all WVYWA Qualifying Tournaments from January 1 to including the Regional Qualifying Tournaments each year.
c. A two-pound weight allowance for the WVYWA Championships.
d. WVYWA Middle School Championships will be in accordance with WVSSAC rules.
