The Preston Turners

Postby cspranger » Sat Mar 08, 2025 4:29 pm

Brother and Sister Cole and Ava Turner in the state finals tonight. Assuming this is a historic first? A great story.

A great accomplishment, but not historic. At least two other schools have done this from the Big 10 Conference:

Fairmont Senior twins Mikey (120) & Madison (127) Jones both finished as Runners-up in 2020, and last year the Garcia siblings from Buckhannon were both champions - Liam at 120 and Maya at 132.

I think we also had our first set of sister finalists for the first time, Olivia and Charlotte Kershisnik. We are still waiting on champion sisters. I believe it has happened in the boys division. But for now a great big congratulations to the Turner siblings. I now consider you the reigning first family of wrestling in West Virginia.

I believe it has happened in the boys division.

At least once for finalist brothers in the same year for sure in 1986 Kenny McMillion Shady Spring at 98lbs and Denny McMillion Shady Spring at 112lbs.
