I heard they tried last year and mentioned it on this board but did y’all see Coach Flynn and Bratke call out Iowa for trying to recruit Watters away from WV yesterday ,they had multiple posts on twitter , apparently a booster has been repeatedly calling Ty and his father leaving voicemails about the Iowa NIL fund , bratke says they turned over the evidence to the ncaa but Iowa was reported by Arizona State last year for the same thing and the ncaa did nothing so we ll see..good news is Ty isn’t going anywhere

NIL is getting out of control. It is another case of the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Good on Kyle and the coaching staff for reporting such an aggreges violation. If the NCAA gets enough of these complaints, they will have to eventually investigate for violations. WVU is one of those programs that is in the majority without "MEGA" donors, they have to earn their money one dollar at a time. This is the perfect example of why it is important to donate.

No joke , I went to school with and knew McAfee before he went pro I swear if I ever ran into him in person I could convince to help the wrestling team, or atleast hook the better guys up with NIL deals , he’s already donating millions to the football team apparently now that Rich rod is back, he respects wrestling always has even in his WVU days , he’s had gable and Bo Nickal on his show many times …. wrestling wouldn’t need that much just a good size donation to get it started , and for him he’s so rich it’s basically just a tax write off

You must of been in Morgantown the same time I was but if you think you could convince McAfee to start paying wrestlings 500k for one season you’re crazy lol

Let's not overreact to what was said. I don't think anyone believes Pat McAfee, or anyone else, is going to donate $500k to the wrestling program or to any one individual. I believe what was being inferred was that NJWVU12 knew Pat McAfee well enough to have a conversation with him and get him on board with the idea of helping to raise some money for the wrestling team. He would be the perfect connection. First, he really does like wrestling. Second, he is a celebrity with many connections. One connection like this could open many doors to other bigger connections.
