Just an FYI- the Boardman “Battle for the Belt” Youth Open will take place on Sunday, November 26th! Champions of the Youth Open Divisions (12 and under) will receive a deluxe championship belt. Accept no substitute- this is truly a first class award! For those who don't know, Boardman High School is in the Youngstown area- only about an hour from Northern West Virginia. The competition will make it worth the drive!
The Boardman Battle for the Belt is truly one of Ohio’s premier open wrestling tournaments! This tournament has drawn as many as 500 wrestlers in the past, with great wrestlers coming in from all over Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, among other states. Just as important as the great competition, as an Ohioquest Tournament, you can count on the fact that this tournament will start on time for all sessions, and move very quickly. There will be 5-6 mats running all day. Expect to get 4-5 matches in approximately three hours!
While this is an individual tournament in which anyone may compete, we will also be incorporating a team race into this event. The top three teams will take home trophies, with an extremely impressive 50-inch trophy going to our team champions.
