MVAC Tournament - UPDATED

Middle Schools - Ripley, Ravenswood, Hurricane, Winfield, Point Pleasant, Logan
The MVAC wrestling tourney is coming up on Monday, January 11. There is no team entry fee for this tournament. This will be a bracketed tournament. Weigh-ins will begin at 4 pm. We want to start as close to 5:00 pm as possible.
Please do not have your team arrive before 3:45, this will allow all of our buses to leave for the day.
The weight allowance will be base +3 lbs. Wrestlers who do not make weight are not permitted to move up weight classes. However, if you have another wrestler at that weight, you may substitute them in. There will be no JV matches.
Skin and nail checks will be performed. Any wrestlers that have ring worm or any other contagious skin condition will not be permitted to wrestle unless they have a written doctor clearance and the area is covered. Final determination will be made by the referees and/or Ripley Middle School administration.
Please email Tim Brown,(tbrown@boe.jack.k12.wv.us), a roster of who will be wrestling at each weight by 3pm on Friday, January 8 . Tim is the meet manager and will have these entered into the computer program. Coaches will receive a packet when they arrive. When weigh-ins are over, we will have a quick meeting to seed the wrestlers and get started. This will be a normal bracketed tournament, not a dual format. The seeding criteria is...1. Head to head, 2. Common Opponents, 3. Record. Individual and team awards will be given.
Concessions will be available after weigh ins. We will have chicken sandwiches, pepperoni rolls, etc. Please remind parents that this is an MVAC tournament, therefore the entry fee for all spectators is $5.00.
We will have a hospitality room for coaches, officials, and administration.
