Girls State Championship - March 20th at Blennerhassett

The Girls State High School and Middle School Wrestling Championship will be held on March 20th at Blennerhassett Middle and Elementary School.

This tournament is sanctioned by the WVSSAC, endorsed by the State Coach's Committee and sponsored by the South and Blennerhassett Wrestling boosters. The SSAC uses this tournament to gauge the interest and numbers in girls wrestling to consider making it an official school sports.

Due to the pandemic, I am taking a leave of absence this season and have turned the tournament over to Coach Bill Smith. Blennerhassett assisted last year's tournament in weigh-ins and registration and has years of experience hosting wrestling events, and a strong boosters program with experience at the Mountain State Clash, WSAZ Championship and the Wood County Middle School Championship.
Also with the shorten season and lack of gym availability, the tournament has been moved to Blennerhassett who welcomed it with open arms. This is the best date available locally.
