What does your school do?

Postby #bestsportever » Fri Feb 19, 2016 8:24 am

Our statisticians are primarily girls that have volunteered their time going to the meets and tournaments to keep books throughout the year. If our school qualifies any wrestlers for the state tournament, we run into the issue of not having an adult female to stay with them at the hotel. My opinion is that the coach does not stay with the boys, so is it really necessary for the statisticians to have someone stay with them? Would the coach not be responsible for everyone? Im curious to see how other schools handle this situation so maybe we can implement a plan for the future if its needed. Thanks! :)

I would suggest reserving rooms off the ground floor to eliminate the use of windows for an exit. Then when both the young men and women go into their separate rooms for the night use masking tape (which you initial so that you know it is your original to tape) around the outside seal of the lock side of the door. This will not break fire codes because there is still air flow from the other three sides and it will not prevent the door from working it will just reveal if it has been opened. Make sure everyone knows that if the seal is broken every occupant of the room will have their parents called to come and get them as soon as it is found, and all occupants of said room will not be competing until further notice. If a legitimate reason to need to leave the room comes up they can call the coach's room. If it has been opened you will know and this should deter any late night shenanigans. Peer pressure should keep the few daring enough to try to escape from trying.

South did it right when they had Jenny. She was an adult who had more numbers than a calculator. She can tell you the fastest pin in the state tournament in 1971, who failed to make weight in 1980 and how many disqualifications occurred in 1993.

However, she was also good looking. Got snatched up and left the team.

Advice: Find an adult numbers guru that is ugly.
Holy smokes. Braxton Amos works out with a landmine now!!!!!!
