Your school’s all decade team
Using current weight classes what is your school’s best lineup from the 2010’s? The weight classes changed in 2012 so feel free to move the 2010 & 2011 guys up or down where the classes have changed. Was going to ask for the a/aa/aaa teams but that seemed to be asking for a fight.

Bennett trained? Might want to check your records on some of those. I’m pretty sure Davis, Mundey and Thompson weren’t under Bennett. I also believe a few guys on that list were graduated by the above stated dates.

Might want to check double check this one! (Bennett trained) Davis, Mundey and Thompson were never “Bennett trained” . Also I believe a few of the guys listed graduated prior to the dates list on the topic.

I’m not sure two years of a wrestlers life can be tributed to a coach so Ryan Diehl was DIEHL/ BENTLEY trained from age 5- 18 many years of great competition and training summers of camps and tournaments with only two years under Bennett seasons, to the finishing two seasons with Coach Bentley.. #RENEGADE4LIFE #RANGERTRAINED

Re: Your school’s all decade team
Great bunch of young men on Roane's decade list as provided by Dylan Cottrell, but one minor correction:
285 Caije Nichols - 2nd, 3rd, 3x Qualifer
285 Caije Nichols - 2nd, 3rd, 3x Qualifer
Re: Your school’s all decade team
Was feeling nostalgic after the OVAC tournament and thought I'd give this a go for Parkersburg South. Will preface this with the following: I left Tyler Green off this team even though he was first at 140 lb in 2010, his senior year. (he was also 2nd both as as a freshman and sophomore and then 1st as a junior, but these were in the previous decade, so Tyler (if you're reading this) you're just too old for this team. I also cheated and have two lightweights because I couldn't decide on how to pick between them. The places listed are their state finishes during their careers (obviously sometimes at different weights).
106 lbs: Bryce Gainer- 2nd, 2nd/Lance Hill- 5th, 1st
113 lbs: David Jeffrey- four 1st place finishes (only 8 losses in his career, all at the Walsh Jesuit Ironman)
120 lbs: Tucker Windland- 2nd, 5th, 2nd, 3rd
126 lbs: Brayden Roberts- 2nd, 1st, 1st, with one more to go (placer at the Walsh Jesuit Ironman, Powerade, Super 32, Fargo, and others)
132 lbs: Gavin Quiocho- 1st, 1st with 2 more to go (placer at the Walsh Jesuit Ironman, Powerade, Super 32, and others)
138 lbs: Luke Martin- 3rd,1st,1st,1st (placer at Powerade and others)
145 lbs: T.J. Lambiotte- 3rd, 2nd, 1st
152 lbs: Josh Humphreys- 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st (I know they were at 3 different schools, but would it be fair and right to not recognize him here, also as a placer at Walsh Jesuit Ironman, winner at Powerade, and who knows what else and still going strong!!!)
160 lbs: Zane Hinzman- 2nd, 1st, 1st
170 lbs: Chris Smith- 4th, 3rd, 1st, 1st (also a Walsh Jesuit Ironman placer)
182 lbs: Hunter DeLong- 3rd, 2nd, 1st (and one of only about a half dozen or so 4 time OVAC winners in its 60 some years)
195 lbs: Justin Allman- also four 1st place finishes
220 lbs: Braxton Amos- 1st, 1st, with one more to go (with wins at all the above mentioned locations on multiple occasions)
285 lbs: Louden Haga- 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 1st (placer at the Walsh Jesuit Ironman and Powerade)
Since this was a pretty tough team to make I would like to recognize the three time state placers not on the team:
Tyler Karcher- 4th, 3rd, 3rd
Briar Shively- 4th, 3rd, 3rd
Tyler Richards- 6th, 5th, 4th
Jordan Quiocho- 5th, 6th, 6th
Dylan Alexander- 5th, 5th, 3rd
Drew Dunbar- 3rd, 4th, 2nd
Thomas Hall- 5th, 3rd, 3rd
and 2 state champions that didn't crack the lineup were Mikey Shamblin- 1st & 2nd and Tyler Koreski- 4th & 1st.
Two current "in-betweeners" who might have been on the team if their 4 years are considered in the future are Devin Easton- 5th & 2nd with 2 more to go and Braydon Johnson- 3rd & 1st also with 2 more to go.
106 lbs: Bryce Gainer- 2nd, 2nd/Lance Hill- 5th, 1st
113 lbs: David Jeffrey- four 1st place finishes (only 8 losses in his career, all at the Walsh Jesuit Ironman)

You missed state champion Lance Hill, who I’d put at 106.

No, he's there. As I said, I cheated.

Tyler Green was the State Champ at 140 in 2010, so he WAS eligible since 2010 IS in the 2010's decade !

Re: Your school’s all decade team
I have five other wrestlers that need to be mentioned. They are TJ Lambiotte, Mikey Shamblin, Briar Shively, Dylan Alexander and "THE GREAT DANE" Dane Mills.
Re: Your school’s all decade team
My only comments, Mike, on your last 3 posts would be:
1) Your picks are all valid and make sense, but you did accidentally leave out the 160 lb weight class.
2) I did mention that Tyler Green was champion in 2010, so I knew that he was eligible and stated that. It just made it easier to fit is some others by giving him the special recognition of being in both decades. I know Tyler and his family and I hoped they would get a chuckle out of me calling him too old. That's also why I mentioned Brayden Johnson who has won more titles than Tyler this decade and a matching 1st place and said that he and Devin Easton will likely be high up on somebody's all decade team 10 years from now when you and I are too old to even know what we're talking about (if that hasn't already happened).
3) I also gave recognition to the ones you did, except for Dane Mills (not that he doesn't deserve it, but Thomas Hall had a more successful heavyweight career overall). However, you missed a very deserving one in Tucker Windland, a 4 time state placer and twice runner-up, and also Drew Dunbar, a 3 time state placer.
Any way it's fun looking back and remembering the kids and the effort they put forth.
