Re: Who has the best Coaching staff in AAA and AA/A
Well I know which HS team has the most coaches and that would be Parkersburg South, probably best Staff this year would go to Point Pleasant.

Re: South /PHS predictions
I agree South83. Rod Oldham was a very good man and always cheered me on in the summer tourneys. We even had a heart to heart talk after I won the WV Open States. He did not care that we were once rivalries, just a good man. But Joe, will be like a dad always... but that day ... we lost to South.. ...

Re: South /PHS predictions
Any favorite memories from South vs. PHS match? Most exciting match between the two schools? The 81 or 82 match when a senior hwt from PHS a senior and was heavily favored went against a young South soph and South needed a pin if I recall and came out and got the pin, that’s the loudest I ever reca...

As usual no crowd control on arena floor. Fans, coaches, wrestlers and medical staff obstructing view of fans n seats. Must medical staff ( 5 staff per mat), stand right n front of each mat. Can they not kneel down? Especially when asked by a parent trying to watch their son wrestle???? Pitiful Agr...

Re: I may ruffle a few feathers
Huntington Big Sandy Arena just has terrible viewing compared to Wesbanco Arena. Personally would love states be moved to Wheeling, Charleston or Morgantown. I’m sure coach Archer does a lot of work with the tourney in Huntington, but sure be nice to view the matches better.

 Wow...really Can anyone actually give head to head scores for each weight class? How did point win the 220 when the "goat" is there? I'm all for moving a stud up to face another stud but all the moving , more like DUCKING, around is ridiculous. The "strategy" involved make...

Congrats to him, wished he would have went to WVU but I’m sure that’s a tough decision.
Maybe they should have recruited him and made an offer? His top 5 were Wisconsin, Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma State and Va Tech, in no order.

Re: AAA 120 Travesty of Competition
Playing devil's advocate here.... 1. If allowing JV into states is the answer, then does that increase the complaints that wrestlers with a losing record are getting into states? To be fair, outside of a handful of wrestlers, very few JV wrestlers will be much of a contender at states. Is a body in...

Re: AAA 120 Travesty of Competition
The problem is not with the number of kids at each weight, it's the number of schools per region. AAA only has one region with 8 schools. The rest have 7 schools. While the smallest # of schools in AA/A regions is 15, next has 16 and 2 have 17. There is no balance between AA/A and AAA. This is the ...

Re: High school states duals
It’s sad that the ssac doesn’t want to do anything but collect a paycheck. In Florida top 2 from district/sectionals move on to regions and than top 2 from regions moves on to states. Leaving just 8 teams for states. State duals is optional so teams don’t have to participate if they don’t want to. ...

HS wrestling in WV 2019
Just want to touch on this topic, I have noticed fewer attendance, lesser crowds and it seems like more forfeits or no filling weight classes by more teams this year. Not as much competition, Anyone else notice this? Thoughts? Let’s turn it around

What happen to South at OVAC? Did they under achieve or the other teams just better? Have kids out with flu or weight issues? I find this surprising thought they would claim title again.

First, lets have a recent history lesson: 1. Two seasons ago, Caleb Rea was the LONE state tournament qualifier for Weir. He won the state title that same season. He is now doing very well wrestling at WVU. 2. Also two seasons ago, Magnolia won the Single A Team title with two wrestlers. This ridic...

There is not a true South fan out there that even looks at this seriously. It is someone who sees South vs everyone else and that is ridiculous. It doesn’t work like this.
